Old pressure vessel (1311 views)
Mr. Armstrong briefed the board on recently discovered leaks in the pressure tank at the Bellevue plant.  The pressure tank has been temporarily repaired, but is no longer considered safe.  The pressure vessel is designed to hold thousands of gallons water and with the aid of an air compressor it maintains enough pressure to sustain the northwest area of the Village Water system.  Due to its age and weakened physical state, the tank could literally explode resulting in significant damage.  The work will require removal of the tank and includes the installation of two variable frequency drives to maintain the pressure in the area.  It wil also include two new booster pumps.
