June 3, 2020

On March 11, 2020 ~ The Governor of Louisiana issued Proclamation JBE 2020 - 25 declaring a Public Health Emergency.  In response to the Governor's Proclamation and to assist members who might be experiencing financial hardship during this time, on March 17, the Village Water Board of Directors decided to temporarily suspend the disconnection of water meters for nonpayment of the bill and to waive the $30 late assessment fee.  To date, the March, April and May 2020 bills have been suspended.

To our members who have not paid their water bill during these months, please be aware that the bill is still due and monthly balances have been carried forward to the subsequent month's bill and will now be due on June 15.  Again…. ALL balances will be due in full June 15, 2020.  If not paid by June 25, 2020 the meters will be disconnected on the 26th of June 2020.  Therefore, we encourage you to start making payments on your bill so that it will not be such a hardship on you when it does become due.

As a reminder, you can still pay your water bill via U.S. Mail, in our drop box, online at our website: villagewatersysinc.org.  You may also pay via a draft.  Starting Monday June 8, 2020 the lobby will be open for normal business, however, we will restrict the occupancy of the lobby to two people at one time.  Please call our office at 318-949-0223 for more information.

Village Water System encourages you to continue these means of payment in an effort to keep the COVID-19 Coronavirus spread to a minimum.

Our lobby will open on Monday June 1,2020.  We will limit the capacity of members in the office to two at one time.  We will also close at 4:30 pm, this will allow us to sanitize the lobby area.

Village Water System’s Board of Directors will continue to monitor the situation and will take appropriate actions as they become necessary. We will continue to do everything possible to provide safe drinking water through these difficult times.  Should you have any questions, please contact our office at 318-949-0223 and we will be happy to assist.
